Overview
This program is designed for the dedicated ballet student (ages 10-20) seeking high-caliber training. Koltun Ballet Boston’s Summer Intensive provides an immersive introduction to comprehensive ballet training, classical variations, original choreography, partnering, contemporary, and modern dance. Held in expansive, state-of-the-art studios in Boston, Massachusetts, the program culminates in a final showcase performance on Friday, August 22nd at KBB studios.
The rigor and focus of the Summer Intensive yield impressive results, with the dedication of our faculty and students showcased beautifully in the final showcase performance. This is an audition-only program, perfect for serious ballet students eager to advance their craft.

The ballet school is run by Alexandra Koltun and Alex Lapshin, who are former principal Star 🌟 dancers with the Bolshoi, Mariinsky and Boston Ballet.
Youth Program
Koltun Ballet Boston – summer intensive youth program for students ages 10-13. Open to All students! Final showcase performance on the last day of the program. Classes taught by KBB faculty at Koltun Ballet Boston studios in Watertown.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
- July 14th — August 22nd, 2025 ( 11:00 am-3:00 pm ) MON — FRI [6 weeks]
- Final Performance is August 22nd @ 3:00 pm at KBB
- Number of weeks optional
- In order to participate in the final performance on August 22nd, you must be present for the last 3 weeks of the program
- Program includes: Ballet, Pre-Pointe Work, Stretching, Introduction to Classical Variations, Contemporary
PROGRAM COST:
- $700 per week
- One-time $50 registration
- Non-refundable deposit of $700 due by March 1st
- Non-refundable balance due by March 15th
- $100 Late Fee applies after March 15th

Pre-Professional
Our 6-week summer intensive takes place July 14th through August 22nd, 2025 and offers pre-professional students (ages 14-20) from all over the world individualized and meticulous attention to the finer details of professional dance.
Monday – Friday, (11:00 am – 4:30 pm).
Our pre-professional summer intensive offers full exposure to:
- Ballet Technique
- Classical Variations
- Pointe Work
- Pas de Deux (partnering)
- Stretching
- Contemporary
Program Costs:
- $900 per week
- One-time $50 registration
- Non-refundable deposit of $900 due by March 1st

We strongly recommend our 6-week option for students considering a career in ballet. For new and existing students of Koltun Ballet Boston who attend all 6 weeks of the summer intensive, a credit of $900 will apply towards school year tuition when they enroll in the Fall.
In order to participate in the final showcase performance on Friday, August 22nd, 2025 you must be present for the last 3 weeks of the program.

◦ Fabrice Herrault | Instagram | Trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris.
◦ Anne Jung | Instagram | Former NDT dancer and freelance choreographer.
. ◦ Claire Baulieu | Instagram | Modern teacher from Paris Opera Ballet School specializing in Graham and Horton techniques.
◦ London Mills | Instagram | KBB graduate and award-winning choreographer, currently teaching modern and contemporary at Koltun Ballet Boston.
Auditions
Registration from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Audition for all ages (10-19) from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on January 25th & February 8th
- Auditions held at Koltun Ballet Boston Studios in Watertown
- $50 audition fee
- Photo of student in first arabesque
- Fill out this registration form
- Resume (name/dates of schools attended and any notable roles)
- Girls must wear black leotards, pink tights, ballet slippers. Pointe shoes (age 12 and up)
- Boys must wear black tights, white t-shirt, white socks, white or black ballet slippers
- Video audition accepted (any classical variation or 10 minutes of a ballet class, including pointe work for girls)
Registration & Forms
After auditioning (and being accepted) follow these steps to register for the school year:
- Ensure that we have a Health Information / Waiver signed by a parent (this should have been done at the audition). Returning students need not renew this.
- Complete this Registration form, also signed by a parent. Returning students need not renew this.
- Obtain a copy of student’s most recent Health/Immunization form from your physician. Returning students need to file this every year.
- Review and sign the Koltun Ballet Student Handbook.
